Integrated care, savings are possible through senior living, hospital partnerships (March 16, 2018) Per person, health care spending for those 65 and older — due to costly chronic conditions — was $18,988 in 2012. With this care load, emergency departments have become crowded and hospitals oversubscribed. But for individuals past a certain age, chronic illnesses and even basic medical procedures require ongoing monitoring and management and, at times, emergency treatment. For those situations, an urgent care or hospital model may not be the best option. Stamford nonagenarians find love, scooters in second marriage (Feb. 12, 2018) They met six years ago at a wine-and-cheese night. He was dancing with another woman when she caught his eye. She declined his first invitation to cut a rug. But not the second. A few months later, nonagenarians Doris Harrington and Peter Koroscil, then 87 and 86, married at the senior living community where they met and both live. Harrington, a longtime Greenwich resident, had just moved to Edgehill — eight years after Koroscil, who has been in Stamford since the 1950s.
